Paleo Challenge 5.6

Today was quite a productive for a Saturday. I started by watching Sophia so Emily could go for a run with a mommy’s club. Then I went to CrossFit and did a great WOD that had me totally beat. I returned an Air Conditioner to Home Depot (upright “portable” air conditioners are total junk; don’t waste your time or money on them). While I was there, I picked up a gate to put at the top of the stairs for the baby. And for dinner, steak, salad, and wine. Not bad for a weekend, and I’m only half done :-).

Food

Small Pre-WOD breakfast

  • 1 hard boiled egg + 1 egg white (the yolk was for Sophia)
  • handful of almonds

Lunch

  • 4 eggs, scrambled
  • 4 pieces of bacon
  • Vegetables sautéed in bacon grease
  • Pear

Snack

  • Almonds

Dinner

  • Steak
  • Spinach salad with strawberries, grape tomatoes, and paleo dressing
  • cauliflower
  • 1 glass red wine

Fitness

Today’s WOD: “O’keefe” – 3 rounds for time of 5 muscle ups + 10 clean & jerks (135/95)

This is such a great WOD. The clean & jerks are killer. I finished in 23:34 doing 15 each of pull ups and dips with the blue band (to sub for muscle ups) and then 85 lbs on the clean & jerks. Not bad. The tough part for me is that no matter much weight I put on, the squat part of the clean & jerk totally gasses me. The jerk at 85lbs isn’t so bad, but the squat just sucks.

Sleep

Family & Faith

I watched Sophia this morning so she could go for a run. Pre-dinner prayer of thanksgiving.
